Wedding Capital of Texas recently sat down with owner, Michelle Alexander to talk about her venue and what makes it such a special place to have a wedding!
Wedding Capital of Texas: Why did you and your husband Matt start The Alexander at Creek Road?
Michelle Alexander: We were inspired when our daughter Jenna got married! Planning and then celebrating her wedding made us think this would be a very fun and gratifying business. So we bought our 40 acres, constructed our home, left Austin and moved to Dripping Springs! Shortly thereafter, we started dreaming up this little village of cottages, and then came our event venue, WindSong.
WCOT: What makes the Alexander at Creek Road such a special place/how are you different from the other venues in the Central Texas area?
MA: I think our concept of a whole-Wedding-Weekend makes it special here. Instead of gathering for just a few hours for a celebration, the onsite lodging (for up to 40 guests now that we've added the Treehouse complex) allows a close group of family and friends the opportunity to really visit and enjoy their time together...walk back to a cottage to visit or sit on the porch... instead of having to rush on to the next location. Whatever the reason for celebration, it's always a Reunion as well! And we also have a wonderful, caring and enthusiastic staff at every event!
WCOT: What advice do you give for new couples?
MA: For a couple planning their wedding --- our best advice is to always remember that it's all about the Marriage, not just the Wedding! As our Chief Wedding Coordinator, Terri, says, "It's your FIRST Best Day ---there are many more Best Days to come!"
