With 300 days of sunshine in Dripping Springs, pretty much every day is a good day for some outdoor dining. Whether it’s triple-digit heat, or one of the 70-degree February days, here are a few of our favorite bars and restaurants around town where you can eat on a patio, backyard, or any other open-air environment. Tucked away in a relatively quiet section of downtown, the patio at the cottage-inspired restaurant Homespun Kitchen & Bar is a welcome reprieve from a large and overcrowded restaurant, with some great food to match. On the menu, you’ll find farm-to-table favorites like a fried green tomato chicken salad, fish tacos, and homestyle classics like chicken fried steak. With two options for outdoor eating, on the front porch or outback which features a playscape for the little ones, Homespun Kitchen & Bar is the perfect al fresco dining option in downtown Dripping Springs.
The patio at the Pizza Cave on Highway 290 seems as if it were specifically created to take in the miles and miles of sweeping views of the Texas Hill Country. Sometimes you need a giant pie as big as your face and scenic vistas of the Hill Country and Pizza Cave offers just that. In addition to the New York-style pizza, you’ll find delicious garlic knots, strombolis as well as local beers on-tap and local wines by the glass.
