The Hill Country is known for craft beer and Texas wines, but the dripping Springs area is home to 6 distilleries that embody the creative ingenuity of the region made with hand-selected ingredients producing high quality spirits. If you love sampling the finer vodkas, whiskeys, and more, you need to make these distilleries a part of your next Dripping Springs adventure.

Dripping Springs Distilling


Dripping Springs Distilling also known as Dripping Springs Vodka is the original distillery in Dripping Springs and in fact, San Luis Spirits the makers of Dripping Springs Vodka was the 2nd distiller and the 3rd licensed Distilled Spirits Permit in the State of Texas. The award-winning Dripping Springs Vodka and Gin is micro-distilled in small batches in copper pot stills. Each product is finished with pure, mineral rich Hill Country artesian spring water.

In the summer of 2021, Dripping Springs Distilling opened their gorgeous new tasting room, Distillers Bar and event space, Distillers Hall. The new tasting room features a gorgeous covered patio, two different bars, and even a kitchen that serves sophisticated southern favorites all situated within a beautiful grove of oak trees.

DEEP EDDY VODKA


Known for its’ super tasty and award-winning vodkas, Deep Eddy Distillery now offers tours of the distillery and of their tasting room. Located right off of 290 in Dripping Springs, stop in to try their specialty cocktails in the tasting room or step outside on the gorgeous manicured lawn to enjoy your drink. Deep Eddy Vodka serves up tasty, and fun drinks using their selection of vodkas including the Ruby Red infused with real grapefruit, the Original which is distilled up to 10 times, the Lemon, Peach, Orange, Cranberry flavored vodka, and the Sweet Tea which is sure to delight southern and non-southerners a like.

A visit to Deep Eddy Tasting Room is a must when visiting Dripping Springs. Make sure to get a snap with the super cool, retro Volkswagen bus while you’re at it.

Treaty Oak Distilling


Treaty Oak is a place you’ll want to stay awhile. Tucked away in the hill country, located on twenty-eight acres is Treaty Oak Ranch which is home to the distillery, the gift shop and the recently opened Ghost Hill restaurant. Named after the massive and majestic 500-year-old oak that symbolizes strength and longevity, the ranch is a family and dog friendly destination. Treaty Oak Distillery selects the best ingredients for their selection of beers, and spirits that include bourbon, rum, and gin.

There’s a little something for everyone at Treaty Oak -a gift shop, tasting room, artisanal cocktails on tap, yard games, a kids play area, and live music every weekend. Ghost Hill Restaurant houses a full bar and kitchen and serves up delicious Texas inspired meals all week long. The menu includes snacks, smoked/roasted/grilled meats, fresh salads, roasted veggies and well as a kid friendly fare. They also offer a 45-minute tour of the distillery where you can learn all about the production process from the Treaty Oak distillers. Pack up the kiddos and head out to Dripping Springs and Treaty Oak Distillery for an experience the whole family will enjoy.

DESERT DOOR TEXAS SOTOL

If you aren’t familiar with sotol, fear not, we will give you the run down. While the distillery is still somewhat young, the process of distilling the evergreen sotol plant has been around for generations. The natives of West Texas had been using the sotol plant for thousands of years, as a food source, and to make mats.

When the Spaniards arrived in west Texas, they showed the natives how to distill and that folks is how the earthy sotol spirit was formed. Now you don’t have to travel all the way out west to get a taste of this elixir. Head to the absolutely stunning, west Texas inspired Driftwood, TX tasting room to try all their innovative concoctions. Enjoy food from the local food truck, enjoy live music, and make sure to pay close attention to their event calendar for announcements about special releases and dinner pairings!

REVOLUTION SPIRITS


Located in what is known as the trifecta of fermentables on Paul's Valley Road is this small craft distillery. This creative company has an abundance of quality and delicious offerings from unique products in both traditional and non-traditional categories. Launched in 2014 with Austin reserve gin and has since expanded the portfolio with both consistent and limited release products.

Revolutions Spirits year-round lineup currently includes Austin reserve gin, cafecito coffee liqueuer, chocolate cafecito, and amico amaro. Most people go for their smooth and delicious gin and end up falling in love with all of the other tasty concoctions.
