FALL:
The farmstead's largest annual event,
Pioneer Day is held every October and is a bursting with family fun. Pioneer Day features re-enactments, demonstrations, live music, BBQ and shopping. As you stroll the 5-acre grounds you will see
civil-war era patriots with their weapons and artifacts on display. Listen for the real cannon blast every hour! Visit the petting zoo or take a ride in our horse-drawn covered wagon. See live blacksmith demonstrations and play pioneer games. There are also make-and-take craft stations featuring artisan products from around the region.
Parents will enjoy
artisan shopping with fine handmade items created with the same skill and craftsmanship of yore; like rag rugs woven on a loom or hand-made brooms. Your purchase will probably come with a demonstration & a story.
WINTER:
Pioneer Day together with our annual Homespun Holidays will give us a holiday celebration unlike any other! Live bluegrass holiday music, demonstrators, food, shopping with local artisans, make-and-take ornament crafts, wagon rides and photos with Santa by the covered wagon. Tour the house festooned with Christmas decorations and enjoy an old-fashioned holiday! $5.00 each, Age 4 & Under is free. Tickets sold at the gate.
