Songwriters Event
Is the festival free?
All the shows in the downtown historic districts are free. The Saturday night Headliners concert is the only show with a charge.
Are pets allowed at the festival?
Well-behaved pets on a leash as well as service dogs are allowed. If a dog behaves badly, e.g. barking, jumping on people, growling, toileting indoors, etc., a business may ask the owner to remove it even it is a real service dog.
Can I bring my own chair?
Yes, outside chairs are allowed, but chairs cannot obstruct the view of the stage or the performing songwriters. Umbrellas, shade coverings, etc. are prohibited. The chairs provided at each venue can be moved to allow additional personal space.
Which stages are indoors, and which are outdoors?
All but two of the stages are outdoors. Pilot Moon Films Stage at The Barber Shop Bar, 6 String Ranch Stage at Mazama Coffee Co., the Stage at the Warehouse District, the Community Impact Stage at Dog 'N' Bone, the Stage at Haus of Jayne and the Estes Audiology Stage at Sidecar Tasting Room are all outdoors.
The stage at Acopon Brewing as well as the stage at Hudson's on Mercer Street are both indoors. Because a majority of the stages are outdoors, make sure to bring sunscreen as well as a hat!
Will there be merch available to buy?
Yes! You will have the opportunity to buy CDs from the songwriters at the merch booth all weekend long. Cards will be accepted for the official Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival merch which includes t-shirts, hats, koozies, and more! The merch booth is located under the H-E-B Welcome Tent in the middle of Mercer Street.
Will there be food?
Yes, food will be available at each stage area as well as food trucks on Mercer Street. No outside food and drink will be allowed inside of the stage venues.
Where can I park?
Parking is available and available at many locations around Dripping Springs. See our map for parking locations!
There will also be golf cars provided by Golf Cars of Austin floating around the festival providing lifts for those in need and those going to stages on Old Fitzhugh Road.
Is this a family friendly event?
Yes, children are allowed, but there will be no activities provided for them.
Please keep in mind that each venue stage is considered a listening room, so children must remain silent during performances.
May we tip the songwriters?
Yes you may tip individual songwriters by cash or their Venmo account. There will not be tip jars on the stages.
Why do I have to be quiet during the shows?
It's all about the song! Please no talking during performances. Consider each of the stages a "listening room" where the focus is on the songwriters. If you'd like to visit with friends,
H-E-B has sponsored a shaded Welcome Tent in the middle of Mercer Street with tables & chairs.
